The First Meeting of the Fusing Club was a huge success, with glass fusers attending both the morning meeting and the evening meeting! We gathered to discuss the topic of “Inclusions” in glass and had examples available of fused inclusions including aluminum foil, crushed garnet, copper foil, bubbles and GlassLine Paper. Students then spent time completing projects which included copper mesh, brass sheet metal, painted leaves, coins, reeded glass to create bubbles and more! Projects went into the kiln and will be pictured here soon! Plan to join us next month, on Thursday, October 24th at 10 AM or 6 PM for the next meeting of the Fusing Club, when we will discuss glass casting with frit. Cost is $5.00 for just the demo, or $20 if you want to stay after the demo and work on a project based on our discussion. Students are encouraged to bring their work in so that we can see what you have been working on!
