One of the things that we find very important and pride ourselves in doing is trying the best we can to keep repairs and restorations historically accurate to maintain the value of the glass. Many studios break out the old glass and replace it with new glass and this is a mistake. From left to right we clean the pieces of glass with a special soap; after that the pieces are cleaned again with a special solution they are taped together. Once the pieces are back in place a two part museum grade glue is to glue it all back together again. After about a week the glue is hard enough for us to work with the glass. The last picture shows one of the pieces repaired and back into the lamp.
